Fuerteventura is very much a desert. It is very close to Africa and tends to have some of the climate influences of the Sahara. We often had wind storms that stirred up sand. On the good side, it provided some of the best white sand beaches in the world.....which is why we had to go back to this island as we didn't get to enjoy them as missionaries.
